Why Might You Need a Sleep Study?#

If you experience any of the following symptoms, you may be at risk for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) — a condition that can affect your cardiovascular health, breathing stability, and overall quality of life:

  • Loud snoring
  • Morning headaches
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Observed pauses in breathing during sleep

What Is an At-Home Sleep Study?#

An at-home sleep study — also known as an out-of-center sleep test — is performed in the comfort of your own home. A compact, advanced monitoring device records key physiological parameters while you sleep.

The test is specifically designed to detect:

  • Repeated breathing pauses
  • Drops in blood oxygen levels
  • Abnormal nighttime breathing patterns

1. Respiratory Parameters#

  • Respiratory effort (chest belt)
  • Nasal airflow
  • Snoring detection

2. Oxygenation#

  • Oxygen saturation (SpO₂)
  • Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI)
  • Duration and severity of desaturation events

3. Cardiac Parameters#

  • Heart rate
  • Pulse variability

4. Body Position#

  • Sleep duration by position

How Are the Results Interpreted?#

After the test is completed, all data are reviewed and interpreted by a qualified sleep specialist. The final clinical report includes:

  • Severity classification — Normal, Mild, Moderate, or Severe
  • Respiratory phenotype — Obstructive, Central, Mixed, or Positional
  • Oxygenation stability assessment
  • Cardiovascular response analysis
  • Clinical risk evaluation
  • Evidence-based treatment recommendations

A complete report is typically issued within 48 business hours.
